Altered clock anyone????

did this clock and really pleased with how its turned out, I must say seem to be on a creative roll just at the moment -also did this LO for this weeks team challenge over on UKS, picture from Sat (before the agro) perhaps its 'cos things seem to be winding me up and its better to turn my annoyance into creation rather than ranting and raving at the peeps around me.....

( note to self don't get angry get CREATING)
off to see what will annoy me today.

WHY DO WE BOTHER

to sort our rubbish and recycle?????????????/

Okay, so its bin day, and alternate Tuesdays is recycling bin you know garden waste bottles, cans, plastic and paper.

So hereabouts we actually have two wheelie bins and in my case four (yes 4) smaller boxes for things that can't go into the garden/kitchen waste wheelie bin, bored yet don't be because the point of this is coming.

So last night all the recycling bottles, paper and cardboard is sorted into the small boxes ready for the bin men, so at the end of my drive are 1 large wheelie bin with grass clippings and other garden stuff and 4 blue boxes with paper in one, plastic bottles (squashed down) in another cardboard and glass bottles in the other 2 (stay with me here).

So morning comes and eventually, I say eventually cause you have to have the bin/boxes out by 7 am, and Mr Cleansing Dept comes along in his wagon at 12.30 (must have had a lie-in) and empties the glass box, he is followed 30 mins later by and Mr CD who empties the wheelie bin, who is then followed by the first wagon emptying the other 2 boxes (hope you're keeping count)
that have the paper and cardboard in them leaving blue box 4 containing plastic bottles (squashed) in (stop snoring at the back) so thinking that yet another bin wagon will along to take the remaining blue box I left it and brought the other 3 boxes and wheelie bin back up the drive, and this is something to see trying to balance 3 what look like toy boxes on top of a wheelie bin whose lid is slanted, so now its getting on for 3pm and time to do the school run and box of plastic bottles is still sitting on the end of the drive so I had a look to see if my neighbours boxes had all been emptied - and YES they had - so whats wrong with my bottles, are they the wrong sort of plastic, quick check- no all recyclable so phone call in order to find out why my box has been left, and do you know what Mr CD says 'madam your box wasn't emptied because there was a can on top' "What?" 'a can in with your plastic bottles' - so I had a look and sure enough a pop can (coke) had been put in my blue box so I said that it wasn't my can (it was full fat coke - only drink diet) and someone must have put it in my box rather than throw it in the hedge and do you know what Mr CD said 'ah but the can wasn't squashed so we couldn't empty the box in case of injury' - no the men who empty the bins and boxes all wear thick gloves or they could have just left the can in the box and taken the plastic but no I now have to have a box of plastic bottles for another 2 weeks until they come round again -

so if anyone can enlighten me as to WHY WE BOTHER RECYCLING and sorting out cnas from bottles etc I really would like to know - answers on a postcard pleease

Okay after this morning's

venting of my spleen so to speak, just made my first BIA book, I've made it for my daughter-in-law of their wedding photos to cary around in her handbag, yes every page has a photo and in chronilogical (?) order of the day and it will be housed in an index card holder from Asda - decorated in a likewise colour scheme - hope she likesi it.

WARNING never

and I mean NEVER let your 13 year old have a birthday party! Why not? I can just hear you all asking (thats if anyone reads this drivel) and I'll tell you, right here goes....

She says 'for my birthday can I have a party?
I say ' Why?'
She says 'Well I've not one since I was 10'
I say 'But 13 is it not a bit old for parties'
she says 'NO!'
I say 'Well when would you want it?'
She says 'On the Saturday dergh'
I say 'Well I'll be working the night before and on the night, what about me sleeping?'
She says 'You don't normally bother and if you go to bed when you get home you can go to bed til dinner time then get up'
I says 'Okay, so what do you want to do for your birthday?'
She says ' Well, go to the pictures then back here for tea'
I say 'Okay, how many?'
She says '5 or 6'
so quick calculation and decide thats okay £35 - 40 plus the cost of some pizzas and coke not too bad
So I agree and off she goes to do a list of who she wants to invite - she decides 5 - right, invitations are printed (by her) date sorted with the understanding that I try and get the day off work (but I had already booked the week off as leave I'd just forgot) so, invites go out and one of her friends has to decline so that's now 4 friends plus herself for the pictures, so now they have to decide what to see - will it be Run Fat Boy Run (DD wants to see this, its showing a 4pm so a good time) or Simpsons Movie (showing at 1.30 not so good) in the end they decide its Simpsons Movie so that means they arrive at our house for noon to get to the cinema for 1pm to get their tickets etc so I okay this, then a week later NO, no cinema she want the party here -they'll have some games (?) what games?? she sort it she says, anyway food and drinks are bought, the house and garden are decorated in a "Hawaiin Theme" and freinds start to arrive. Now remember when I started this waffle we were only expecting 4 well, a 5th friend turns up (the one who couldn't come as blah blah blah) anyway 1 extra no problem, or so I think, things are going well they're all out in the garden when I here a shout "Don't do that she'll get frightened" so I rush out to see whose getting frightened and its the rabbit, one of the girls decides she knows how to pick up rabbits 'cos she got 2 and they're bigger than this one, but she doesn't accept that DD rabbit is only a baby and as yet not used to being handled, anyway they get a bit of a talking to, (don't touch bunny, don't swing on the washing line etc and everything is okay again) so back to playing. So they have their tea and then the chocolate fountain with strawberries and marshmallows and they all seem to friends again (by this time its 6.15 - only 3/4 of an hour before pick up time) everything is cleared away then the hormones kick in (or was it the chocolate) and its
DD 'MUM she just hit me'
Why ?
friend Cos she pushed me
DD Well its her fault as they've been mean to me and 'friend' ever since 'friend' got here and she wasn't even invited.
So DD flies upstairs to room and is sobbing her little heart out because uninvited friend has spoiled her party, other friend is huddled with univieted friend leaving the other 2 friends wondering what to do
Me - I can't wait for 7pm to arrive but somebody seems to have stopped the clock!!!!!!!
Then a car pulls up outside and its quiet friends Mum "Has it been okay?" she asks so I tell her the whole boring tale, then Mum of 'thug' friend arrives and takes thug friend home, meanwhile univited friend is standing behind me in the hall waiting for her Mum and looking at her feet, so I say "I thought you told DD that you couldn't come?" and she just carries on looking at her feet and shrugs, then her mum arrives and all the friends Mums are at the front having a bit of a pow wow stern looks towards the girls in various cars then rather sheepish looks and feeble waves in my direction before they drive off.
Back inside DD is still snuffling and threatening to ring the mums after and tell them what they've done so I tell her the next party she has will be when she's old enought to go out by herself and either walk away and come home or fight it out.
END OF - there will definately be no more parties for her at this house EVER.

Right got that off my chest, so anyone reading be warned 13 is not a good age for parties in the house.

On a brighter note me and DH are taking bets has to how long it will be before she's asking univited friend home for tea.

Kids - would have 'em.

Holiday from work

nearly over - god where has this week gone???? On the plus side I have got some mini books made, 3 in fact, no 4 if you count the one that I started then changed my mind on the piccies that where going in, anyway I'll have one happy MIL on Sunday when DH takes it over to her as she was pestering for her wedding photos, well not HER wedding photos but some of my baby boys photos and I have noted that none that she picked were of me! (always knew she didn't like me) so thats her happy well, until her birthday next month that is.

On a different note, over on UKS a CC (Cyber Crop for the unitiated) has been announced, YEAH! missed the last holiday CC due to being in Wales (good time was had by all BTW) and its not over 1 weekend this time - on no - its over 3 - YES 3 full w/e of scrapping, crafting fun - its just a bugger that the actual nights I'll be at bloody work, but intend to make Monday, Tues, and Wed into Friday, Sat and Sun so it will be bugger the housework, no cooking and perhaps some stash buying???

Right off to do some more with my glue and pretty papers - later.

Another working week over

so now I'll get to play with my new ScrapaGoGo kit that arrived Friday, I must admit I've only just opened properly and its soooo lush and the texture of the papers is scrummy - doubt I'll be able to cut into it just yet, but I really should try as I seem to be drowning in pp and cs, I think all us scrappers are the same to a point you have to go through a stage of looking, then stroking look some more before you actually cut - its a long process (well for me it is anyway) in fact a process that can take a good few months, although other kits you get you open them and just know that you've got the right photos for and the looking and stroking stage doesn't matter you just do it.

Right off to see if I can remedy the birthday card the DH made for the birthday girl last night - have you ever seen a rabbit with 6 legs and 3 ears???

Laters..........

What I was saying

that's another week gone by and no update on here, on the plus side I have uploaded these cards made yesterday (see earlier post) the decoupage is really really easy with these, you don't need to cut right up to the line - in fact they look better with a bit of white showing - who'd a thought that cos I wouldn't but what do I know??????????

Anyway the card - YES card - is what the pictures are printed on are from the "Clutter" range and I've only seen them before on C&C shopping channel but I saw these in my LCS (honest that shop shouted my name as I drove past) and thought 'why not give them a go' think they'll do for MIL's birthday next month - WOW I'm ahead of myself there just got to make DD a card for next week but I know what I'm doing as she picked it herself - you just gotta love that child, she picks her own cards every time (not sure this is right but at least she gets one that she likes and keeps).

So if anybody reads this leave a comment and let me know what you think of the cards - pleeease.

Another week gone by

Okay think I know

where I went wrong with that last post, but will have to try out my theory tomorrow now, got to get ready for another voyage on the Ghost ship that is work .

WHY????

are there such big gaps on that last post??????????????

Anyone - but nobody reads this so I'll never know

Not very good

okay so these aren't where I wanted them but if you read backwards it makes sense

This lo was done for the team challenge over on UKS and the challenge was a book title, pink/lilac/purple, glitter/bling and something new. I used a book title by Arabella Weir pink c/s BUM in glitter letters and my new was the big blue flower - hey I got all the element required and 30 points for the Scrappin' Angels.

So while I'm on a roll did another lo this morning (instead of doing the weekly food shop - they don't need to eat - right) using my ScrapaGogo kit for this month - just added the red flower and black title stickers (the red flower was from a previous GrabIts kit) and got this

at this blogging lark, I know some peeps post something everyday and I did say to meself that I would try or at least every other day but its not happening so, my apologies if any is remotely interested in what I do, but I have been creating or cutting and sticking as he who would like to be obeyed calls it.

Well thats another week over

and a new month - it must be true what my daughter tell sme that I'm getting old as I really don't know where this year is going.

Ah well its back to school today and all's quiet, in fact too bloody QUIET.

So I've now got all day to myself, well til 3pm anyway, and I've cleaned up, done the beds and loaded the dishwasher so how to fill me long, long afternoon - okay its only 3 hours but what to do, shall I go out and spend some money or shall I go and tidy my craft room and then I can the spend rest of the time crafting?

Oh decisions decisions.

Back later to say how I spent my afternoon.
