A little update on earlier

Well she's arrived home from school after apparently having a good day (she said so on FB) and she now wants me to be like my mum was with me - she doesn't want me to be me and she certainly doesn't want me to be her friend - and its all to do with the fact that her boyfriend wont visit her when I'm here unless I'm in bed after my nightshift - not sure if that is the reason but thats what she and he apparently say.

So from now on she gets no friends stying for tea, coming here for the evening to chat or do homework, definately no sleeping over at w/e's,(either here or at fiends) no new clothes or shoes just because I feel like treating her and definately no money until she does a chore of some description for it.

How very naughty of of me.............

to have left soooo long between posting again (what's new?)

well thats March nearly over for another year and as the saying goes its certainly going out like a lion see the damage to this tree that WAS in my back garden the left is the tree now and the one on the right gives an idea of how tall they were - anyway I say was because the tree is now in next doors, next door-but-one and a garden at the back .

Introducing our new family member

and here she is - as yet we can't decided on a name, although 2 are being toyed with - Pixie is the first but DD wants Toni, she's a lovely little cat, 4 years old and belonged to my daughter-in-law's sister, who has decided to move house and can't take her (she did have 6 cats altogether and is keeping 2) so homes had to be found for the other 4 this being the one my son thought I would like as she does have a resemblance to Puss from Shrek in real life.
So any readers out there help us choose her name should it be Pixie (she is rather small ) or Toni
Will check back later to see if any help is forthcoming with her name - unless you can think of something else you feel would suit her. Please leave a comment.

Okay so it was November when I last posted something

and to get up to date here's why. First my dad wasn't well - this involved trips to A & E for a difference of opinion by the doctors in 2 days then they decided that IV antibiotics would do the trick, so this involved going to A & E twice a day for 7 days for said antibiotics (this involved him going home with a cannula in his arm (working on the wards this would be considered an no no) anyhow the seven days of antibiotics seemed to do the trick but he was also on oral for a further seven days this taking us up to the week before christmas, but when we delivered the pressies for them (always christmas eve) Mum told me Dad actually collapsed the Sunday before WHAT and she never said anything so told her if it happens again to ring 999 and get him to A & E, so what happens? 8 am Christmas morning the phone rings and its a neighbour of Mum's to say that they've taken Dad away in an ambulance unresponsive !!!! so off to A & E and hes laid there on a trolley looking for all the world like he's had a stroke with a definate right sided weakness and what do doctors diagnose - a bloody urine infection - so he's discharged just about managing to stand by himself with yet more antibiotics home - now working in the NHS I will defend it has I know how hard the doctors and nurses work and what pressures they are under with regard to beds and waiting times etc but why send someone who's obviously so poorly home????

Anyway enough of that secondly the pc got a virus (no antibiotics unfortunately) so that meant I got behind with a couple of cj's over on UKS, but thought I'd fixed it by going back to factory settings (meaning that I lost all my photos that where on here) and the addresses for said cj's, even after this drastic course of action I still couldn't log in so couldn't access the pm (private message) bit to get addys never mind post about all this, what felt at the time like the end of the world as I hate letting things get behind (so looking at definate negative ratings for these) but anyhow everything seems to be back on track thnkas to a lovely pc doctor who took the machine off to the pc hosptial for a week and brought it back working (!) well I can keep in touch with peeps now anyway.

So for now its Happy New Year (I know a bit late) but I'll get in front for next time.

Why do cars let you down

when you really need them????????????

Right, driving DD to school this morning and my bloody car decided to have a heart attack, exactly half way between home and school (luckily it was raining) but there we are no mobile and no money arrggggh.
So we abandon the car and do the only thing we can do in this situation and walk home, no I know you're all thinking why didn't DD carry on to school if she was half way there, well I'll tell you, she'd no way of getting home safely if she did that as there is a stretch of road that's got a 50mph speed limit and no footpath - definately not the safest option - anyway we get home and she gets some money for bus fare (to and from school) and I ring my breakdown service and she asks "if I was with the car or at home" 'at home' says me "how long will it take you to get back to the car" '3/4 of an hour' "well go back to the car and wait for the breakdown truck" WHAT!!!! can he not pick me up and take me to the car? 'just a minute I'll check' so she puts me on hold and I get to listen to wait for it

RESCUE ME - this is what I'm hoping a knight in shining armour will do, or failing that a breakdown recovery truck, so she says the breakdown guy will pick me up at home but he'll be about an hour, so while I'm waiting I start thinking (as you do) should I ring DH at work to pick DD up from school later or not? We'll before I have chance to ring the breakdown guy arrives (30mins) so I wouldn't have had chance to get back to the car anyway, and when we get to the car the bloody thing started first time adopts best Victor Meldrew voice I DON'T BELIEVE IT
so there's me looking a right numpty nothing wrong with he car but breakdown guy very kindly follows me home and gives the engine the once over just to check and no gives it a clean bill of health and when he gives me the form to sign that he's done the job - the description of job is COWS - me thinks he writes STUPID above that although he denied it apparently it stands for Cut Out Won't Start - oh yeah......

Just hope the ruddy thing starts later when I go to work...

Enough for now off to see if its recovered enough to get me to the supermarket..

Where has October gone????

I can't believe is been sooo long since I last blogged, so whats happened in my boring little life....

Oh yes Halloween, DD decided she was going to dress up as a Funky Fairy so an outfit had to be sourced, this I ended up making, but even if I do say so myself it turned out pretty good, then of course the pumpkin needed carving, again I ended up up doing this and after a few 'words' as to the design of said pumpkin it was off to the kitchen to carve and this is the result(above left) and as for the costume (above right) DD's friend is the skeleton. (one day I will work out how to put my photos where I want them).
Then last Sunday I got a phone call, it was Dad and immediately knew something was wrong but then he says "hang on your Mum wants you" and she wanted to know if A & E was open 24hours " Why?" says me " I've fallen and hurt my thumb" so I got ready for work 3 hours early, and went to pick her up, anyway long story short and she'd broke her thumb according to the Doc at A&E, yesterday was her check up and the Doc took the backslab off and had a good feel around her thumb and said he didn't feel it was broke, this put a big smile on Mum's face - then he pressed her wrist - well she nearly hit the ceiling so he thought it was her wrist thats broke, so off he goeas to check her X-rays and comes back not too sure as they didn't X-ray her wrist last week but he says "We'll put a plaster on that and come back in 4 weeks" mum's not too happy but she is now sporting a purple (when asked what colour she said black but I said purple and thats what she got) cast on her right arm.
So thats it for now (as if anyone reads this rubbish) off to do some chrimbo cards.
